While this year was a major focus on weddings, it had plenty of portrait sessions too! Last year I took a leap of faith and decided to cut back in areas of my business and grow where I felt called to be, photographing marriages and motherhood!

I changed a few things around in my business and chose to only take on family sessions 3 times a year during my mini session dates. I worried how this would affect me, my business and cutting back just when I decided to work full time from home?! It was scary but my community of clients are amazing and really made this transition an easy one!

After those few mini session dates, I filled the rest up with engagement sessions, maternity sessions and a lot of bridal boudoir sessions too!! I even tossed a few other ‘secret’ sessions in there that I haven’t shared just yet and plan to in the new year and they were actually some of my favorites! ❤️

Looking back at these sessions it’s amazing because some of these I feel as though they were ages ago! It doesn’t seem possible that they were taken this year!

Being a full time business owner and a full time stay at home mama is a challenge! Some of my sweetest clients welcomed my little guy with open arms at their shoots when a babysitter had to cancel last minute and I can never thank them enough for their grace they have shown me because y’all, this is the real life of a mama hustling HARD to be home and present for her little guy while chasing big dreams!! ❤️

In 2020, I hope to be able to focus more on motherhood sessions and see where that path leads! I’ve dreamt of being able to focus on soon to be Mama’s, brand new Mama’s and seasoned Mama’s. My heart and season of life is in total mom mode and connecting with other Mama’s is something I feel passionate about and I’m determined to really carve the time out for it!

As you can see, this year was full! Although this was not as ‘busy’ of a year with family shoots, it still left my plate filled to the max! And it felt really good! 😊 I can’t wait to see how the new year pans out and share my next biggest adventure with ya!! Be sure to catch part one & part two of this year’s year in review series and come back next week for my final wrap up!
