An October, intimate backyard fall wedding in Elyria, OH.
This is the 2nd time this wedding season I have gotten the chance to photograph another high school pal’s wedding and I was so thrilled that Ally & Donald trusted me with the job of capturing their wedding day! Ally & I also used to cheer together in high school and our mama’s are great friends too! Her family is like an addition to our family and we are so grateful they are in our lives!
Ally & Donald planned an intimate, backyard fall wedding with their immediate family members! While Donald & Ally’s brother’s were upstairs preparing for the ceremony, Ally, her mom and grandma were downstairs helping her get dressed and ready for the big moment. After getting ready and just moments before walking down the aisle, Ally & her dad shared a very touching first look together. Not often do I hear many dad’s able to get the words out they want to say in those moments, but George, Ally’s dad, didn’t leave a dry eye in the room.
Walking right out into their backyard, under a big beautiful tree, Ally & Donald shared their vows they had written with one another. It was so sweet & emotional. With their small guests in attendance, the moment made it feel even more personable and romantic.
With Ally & Donald’s wedding party being just the two of them, I really got to be a third wheel to their wedding day! We were able to find little pockets of sunshine through some wooded paths nearby and capture their bridal portraits on a truly terrific fall day!
Once they arrived to their reception, some additional immediate family members joined the celebration and enjoyed a delicious display of desserts and a meal prepared by Donald’s father! Speeches were given from their parents of how proud they were of these two and how much they loved the one they were now married to. I have said this before and I will say it forever, these micro, intimate weddings I hope will stay around for a very long while!
Ally & Donald, what a gift it was to be apart of your wedding day! I am so honored that I was there to witness the love you two have and wish you all the love in all the years you two have ahead!
