Want to know something that I just think is one of the best parts about my job? When past wedding couples come back to me and let me photograph another big momentous occasion for them, an addition to their family. It is just the best feeling knowing they are picking you and trusting you with their most treasured stories and asking you to document this season for them. I don’t take that privilege lightly, that I can promise! And every time I am asked, my heart grows three times bigger. That I can also promise!

Photographing motherhood sessions has been something I have been hoping to be able to dive more in and focus on! Being a mama myself, it is something I get so much joy being able to capture seasons of motherhood for other seasoned mamas and new mamas. Being a mama (& a wife too) has been the greatest gift! I could go on forever about how much I love being a mama to Liam but today’s blog post isn’t about me and I can start to get pretty long winded if I don’t watch it! 😉

When Niki and I were discussing about her maternity session, she mentioned she wanted the session to be mainly in black and white and I was SMITTEN! I have been crossing my fingers to get a client who loved black and white portraits as much as I do and would just maybe like an all black and white session and I can finally cross that off my photography bucket list!

Niki & Conor were one of my 2019 magnolia couples and wed this past summer! On their wedding day there was a lot of rain in the forecast so we took any chances and opportunities we had to take some portraits when the rain would stop for just a few moments! And here we were again at their maternity session with the same forecast, just a tad bit chillier! But it did not stop their in home maternity session from being pure sunshine! Oh how I love how cozy their portraits are! They are expecting a little boy in April and I can’t wait for all the fun they are about to have!!

Enjoy browsing through this black and white maternity session (with a few colored portraits sprinkled in here and there)!!
