Newborn sessions held at home, just hit different. They feel calm, quiet and much more intimate. Baby M’s North Olmsted newborn session was all three of these and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better session if we tried!
There is so much to love about an in-home newborn session. For one, there is no rushing out the door. And that alone, can I get a hallelujah! As a mom myself – I know how hard it was trying to get one kid out the door and being a few minutes late. Now with two, we need to start getting ready to get out the door a good 2 hours before we even need to walk out! It’s nice being able to not rush your other little ones out and having a few extra minutes to get yourself ready.

Another reason why I love in-home newborn sessions, especially if you have other little ones besides baby, it is a safe & comfortable environment. Meaning, your toddlers are going to feel so much more relaxed having everything they know surrounding them. Too, when they are ready for a break – they can go straight to their playroom and be amongst their toys. This was the perfect scenario for Mom & her boys! While we took some portraits of just baby M and mom, dad and brother were able to go and relax elsewhere in the comfort of their home.
Mom & the boys were such a joy to chat with! We bonded over both having boys, our love for neutrals and buying boy clothes & our favorite spots to get them (Zara and H&M for other boy mamas looking!). M’s nursery was so darling and a beautiful backdrop for his newborn session. Mom told me she pulled it all together quickly for the portraits and she did such an amazing job! (You should all see T’s nursery, it’s still a storage space really – second kid problems, you know?) 🙂
