One of the greatest joys of being a family photographer is the opportunity to watch families grow and capture the beautiful moments that unfold as children grow up. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely family in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and what made this session truly special was that I had photographed them before, witnessing their families growth over the years. This time, I had the delight of capturing all three of the children, all four years old and under, as they played, laughed, and grew right in front of my lens.

The session took place in their front yard, allowing them to feel comfortable and at ease in their home environment. We played games of tag and hide & seek to capture those priceless genuine smiles, and with snack breaks in between portraits, the little ones had a blast, making it feel more like playtime than a portrait session.

The choice of holding the photo session in the family’s front yard was an excellent decision. The children felt at ease in their own environment, which made all the difference in capturing their true personalities and the candid moments that make family portraits so special. With the comforts of home around them, they were free to be themselves. To create genuine smiles and capture the authentic essence of the children, we engaged in spirited games of tag and hide & seek. The excitement and laughter that filled the air were truly infectious, and it was an absolute joy to witness their unfiltered happiness. These moments are the ones that parents treasure, and it’s an honor to freeze them in time through photography.
