As a parent and a photographer, there are moments that hold a special place in our hearts—none more so than capturing the one-year milestone session of our little ones. Recently, I had the joy of photographing my son’s first-year celebration, opting for the comfort of home to create timeless memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.
The day was nothing simple. The weather was a beautiful 60 degrees in the winter with the sun shining. I just had to take the opportunity to grab some quick portraits of my littlest to remember him at 12 months.
One Year Milestone Session
The simplicity of the backyard setting allowed my son to shine, with each photograph capturing the purity of his joy and curiosity. The goal was to create images that wouldn’t just be beautiful now but could be proudly displayed for years to come. By choosing a neutral palette, the resulting photographs are classic heirlooms. These images will stand the test of time, blending seamlessly with any décor or style, and serving as a visual representation of the love and joy that surrounds our family.
The session began with capturing individual portraits of my son, focusing on his charming expressions, tiny fingers, and the innocence that defines the first year of life. Whether he was sitting, crawling, or taking those wobbly steps, every moment was a precious memory frozen in time.
