I love when a new client signs up during one of my mini sessions and becomes a wonderful, continuous client that I have the honor of seeing year after year. It is such an honor when someone becomes a loyal part of the BSP family. B is one of those clients and I am always more than thrilled when I know we have a session coming up. She is expecting her second daughter and I got to document her North Ridgeville maternity session at the end of her pregnancy.

North Ridgeville Maternity Session

B’s daughter is such a little ham and honestly, makes my job too incredibly easy! (I also should stop saying that before I jinx myself! Ha!) But I loved getting to capture those last few moments of B & M together before she gets to become a big sister. Just going through this myself, I know those last few months, weeks & days with your first born before the second one arrives is such a bittersweet feeling. As soon as that second child arrives, your first born doesn’t look so little anymore and you just wonder, ‘were they always this big’? I actually had a sweet client of mine tell me before I had T, as soon as he was here, I’d look at L and he would look so old to me and my goodness was she right.

We captured B’s maternity session at home since it was March and still quite chilly outside. I always prefer this option in the winter months with little ones as I think they just participate a little better, even more so when they are in their comfy & safe environment! (Another reason why I love in home sessions so much!) But despite that chilly weather, we did get to have some sun shining through B’s dining room and it warmed those portraits right up.

I love getting to share deep conversations with my clients as we photograph their sessions about the mountains and valleys that motherhood can bring. It feels like such a gift to me getting the opportunity to meet so many moms & getting to make those personal connections through my business. B & I got to talking so much during her session, we could have almost totally forgotten we were there to do a portrait session! While some folks may not prefer that, I love my tribe of clients that allow the room to make those connections during their shoot!

Allardale Park Maternity Session

I have had the joy of photographing T and Z numerous times, but the most recent you may have seen them here on the blog would be for their wedding last May! They are welcoming a little one this month and are anxiously awaiting their little one’s arrival. We chose to photography T + Z’s maternity session at Allardale Park in Medina and it is one of my favorite spots!

We met at the park and were crossing our fingers that the rain would hold off until after their session! What’s actually quite ironic is that every photo session I have had with them, it has rained either during or right after our time together! We had to reschedule their engagement session about 3 times due to the rain! I am so glad that we were able to fit this in before baby made it’s way here!

I envy the patience they have as they are waiting until their baby makes it’s way into the world to find out the gender! I love this idea and wish I had the patience to do it myself! Ha! But what a surprise and special moment that will be for them! I can not wait to see them again when they have a little boy or girl added to their family!

I got the chance to photograph my lovely friend, just weeks before she was due to meet her little girl. I feel so lucky to have been able to photograph each of M’s pregnancies, now three to be exact! But this one just felt a little more special. Not only was she throwing a little girl into her mix at home with all little boys, but this was also her last baby and that always is so bittersweet.

I was just in the early weeks of my pregnancy while M was in her final weeks, but it was really great to be able to have at least one pregnancy at the same time with your pal. We have been friends for a very long time, 12 years! It has been a great joy and honor watching her as she became a wife and a mama. I still can’t believe she is a mom to three now but know her babies have a great mama to raise them.

Winter Outdoor Maternity Session

I had the pleasure of meeting K + J for their winter maternity session in January on a very, chilly day! Although, the sky was definitely beautiful, being so close to the lake, the wind was just so frigid. But these two were such wonderful troopers braving the cold to get some really beautiful portraits before their little one arrives here soon! (And even more so when I asked them to run down to the beach for some pictures!)

The little field in Bay Village was a perfect backdrop. We just had a fresh falling of snow the night before which made the snow look just perfect! K & J were so kind and lovely getting to talk to! We shared our favorite pizza spots and if you know me personally, pizza is one of my love languages! 🙂 I can not wait to see these two again when their newest addition arrives!

I have had the pleasure of knowing Meg for quite some time now! I first met Meg when I was pregnant with L almost 6 years ago to photograph some of her wedding invitation suites. Since then, Meg and I have gotten to quite a few photo shoots together and it’s always such a great time! I got to see her become a mama and now she is on her way to becoming a mama to two!

Meg & her husband are expecting a little boy in December! We met at their home, to enjoy the last bits of fall foliage and capture the last couple of weeks as a family of three. Their front yard provided such a beautiful background to their portraits and one of my favorite spots at Meg’s home, her front porch swing!
