There’s something truly magical about watching a family expand and evolve over the years. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a family for the second time at the Lake Arts Studio, welcoming their newest addition, a precious little girl, to the world. With two sweet little girls now filling their home with love, capturing their growing family was a delightful experience. Their session was held at Lake Arts Studio, bathed in natural light and overlooking Lake Erie, provided the perfect backdrop for this Cleveland newborn photography session.
Revisiting a family for a second newborn portrait session is like rekindling a beautiful love story. It’s a testament to the enduring bond between a photographer and their loyal families, and I was overjoyed to be part of this chapter in their lives. Welcoming a new baby into the family is a special moment, and I was determined to capture it in all its radiant beauty.
Cleveland Newborn Photography
One of the keys to a successful newborn portrait session is to work around the baby’s schedule. We made sure to accommodate feedings, nap times, and any other needs the newborn had. This not only ensured a happy and cooperative baby but also created a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the studio. The addition of a toddler to the family adds a unique dimension to the portrait session. Toddlers are known for their unpredictable behavior, but with patience and understanding, we were able to engage and entertain older sis, making her feel like an important part of the session. Her playful presence added an element of authenticity to the photographs, capturing the beautiful connection between the two sisters.
Lake Arts Studio proved to be the perfect setting for this portrait session. The studio’s bright, white interior, flooded with natural light from large windows overlooking Lake Erie, created a serene and heavenly atmosphere. The soft, diffused light accentuated the delicate features of the newborn and cast a soft glow on the family, making the photos truly captivating. The studio, with its tranquil ambiance and the family’s affectionate bond, made every click of the camera feel like an intimate celebration of their growing love.

One of the greatest joys of being a family photographer is the opportunity to watch families grow and capture the beautiful moments that unfold as children grow up. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely family in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and what made this session truly special was that I had photographed them before, witnessing their families growth over the years. This time, I had the delight of capturing all three of the children, all four years old and under, as they played, laughed, and grew right in front of my lens.
The session took place in their front yard, allowing them to feel comfortable and at ease in their home environment. We played games of tag and hide & seek to capture those priceless genuine smiles, and with snack breaks in between portraits, the little ones had a blast, making it feel more like playtime than a portrait session.
The choice of holding the photo session in the family’s front yard was an excellent decision. The children felt at ease in their own environment, which made all the difference in capturing their true personalities and the candid moments that make family portraits so special. With the comforts of home around them, they were free to be themselves. To create genuine smiles and capture the authentic essence of the children, we engaged in spirited games of tag and hide & seek. The excitement and laughter that filled the air were truly infectious, and it was an absolute joy to witness their unfiltered happiness. These moments are the ones that parents treasure, and it’s an honor to freeze them in time through photography.

As a family photographer, there is nothing more rewarding than watching a family grow and being part of their journey. Gathering your extended family for a photo session is an incredible way to freeze time and preserve cherished memories. One sunny morning on the shores of Lake Erie, I had the privilege of documenting a family session for a dear friend. The warm weather and abundant sunshine set the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable day. Too, what made this session even more special was the children’s desire to play in the water, the love shared among family members, and the importance of capturing these moments with close and immediate relatives.
Cleveland Family Photographer
The morning sun bathed the Lake Erie shoreline in a warm, golden light. As everyone gathered, you could feel the excitement and anticipation in the air. It was a perfect day for a photoshoot and everyone was dressed in their finest, ready to capture beautiful moments together. Also, while getting everyone ready for their portraits, the little ones couldn’t hide their enthusiasm for the nearby waters. Their eyes sparkled with excitement, and it was clear that they couldn’t wait to take a dip. And, let’s be honest, who could blame them? The sparkling water, sandy shores, and the backdrop of a limitless horizon were truly inviting.
To make the session more personal and meaningful, we decided to break out into smaller groups. This allowed us to capture unique bonds and relationships between the kids and their loved ones. We witnessed laughter and loving embraces, all of which were beautifully preserved with treasured photographs.
